So may I reintroduce to you…

Squinting through the dispersing mist, the rust coloured Rip takes in his opponents.
He’d hoped to get another shot at the Apocalyptians, but these strange, freak/angel creatures would do.
The frail looking Twinkle looks up at her Dragon-born husband with her elven eyes. His pride is one of the reasons she loves him, but it’s also the cause of so many of their battles.
A low muttering below draws their attention to their new dwarven teammate. Porkins hasn’t said much since their introduction. It’s obvious though, that he’s also got something to prove.
And standing in front of them all, his teeth bared, is the tiefling Belial. It’s quite apparent though that he’s there purely for the thrill of the fight.

Team Apocalypse vs The Knighty Knights

Team Apocalypse's challenge begins in earnest.
Looking at the scoreboard they're currently running equal to the Hellrazors.
If they beat The Knighty Knights only the Denim recruits can stop him claiming the cup!
Saying that, despite losing their first match, the Knighty Knights are also capable of winning over all.
As are The Denim Recruits.
In fact even the War Pigs could claim second place...
Suddenly the Hellrazor's don't feel so cocky.

There's no quick look black for team Purple!

The Denim recruits!

Introducing...

Destructive girl: A psychotic looking Halfling Sorceress.
Prince of the Rodeo: A camp but frightening looking Half-Orc Ranger.
Sailor man: Another camp but frightening looking Half-Orc Ranger.
And finally...
Denim demon: The campiest and possibly most scary mary of them all. An Eladrin Warlord!

Personally, I feel sorry for the Apocolypse dudes.

More XP and Continuity

Congratulations are in order...

After scything your way through a tribe of goblins you have all earned more XP, making a total of 2310 - enough to level up.

Alas, though, you are all still in the scary dungeon. Brave adventurers you may be, none of you seem keen to stop and rest inside!

Rather, Daelagor seems pre-occupied with a secret door he found and the rest of you are still deciding what to do with the unconscious but not-quite-dead goblin leader: Balgron the Fat.

We continue the adventure tonight where we left off last week...

(Bring a third level character in case you decide to rest up back in Winterhaven...)

Loot and XP

You sell what weapons and armour - taken from the kobolds you've encountered so far - upon your return to Winterhaven. You also get your reward from Lord Padraig for destroying the kobold lair and killing their leader, Irontooth (100gp). Furthermore, you equally split up the gold that Irontooth was hoarding (420gp).

In total, each of you (Egil included, Velorien excluded) can now add 110gp and 6sp to your personal stash - on top of what you may already have gotten throughout the course of our adventures so far.

You also have an Orcus idol and amulet. You may or may not wish to sell these: Zahig discovered that the idol, at least, could be employed as a ritual component... Let me know what you choose to do. Also, please let me know who is carrying those items ;-)

Winning out against numerous foes (barely) has taught you some important lessons. Not quite enough to hit third level, but not far off either. Each of you (Egil AND Velorien included) now has 2000xp - just 250 short of the next level...

Please let me nnow if you're going to purchase anything or want to ask any more questions of any of the townsfolk. Hint: Have another look at the letter you found on Irontooth if you like intrigue...

Egalitarian Gaming

A thought:

Certain inequities will always appear when we rely on one or two people to run games as DMs, while most everyone else either run a 1 session game or else don't run one at all.

I'm thinking of magic split among the party in particular, but it also applies to how the story flows.

So, how about we try to get everyone to DM?

Of course there will be issues:
- a player has deadlines (PhD!)
- DMing sessions aren't the same length
- players might not feel they are able

I think the 1st can be handled by shifting the order around - up to a point.
The 2nd can be handled by counting sessions instead of DMing turns
And the 3rd, well - drop down the list till you pick up experience then use a pre-made dungeon if you are still not confident.

I think this will also have the benefit of resulting in a more diverse and fun game for us all.

Comments? Other issues?
